The best way to celebrate any occasion in Toronto is with a nice, big, juicy piece of meat. There are many steak places to choose from, but I would like to bring your attention to an establishment I most recently visited, Barberian’s Steakhouse. This place has been around for over 50 years and it is one of Toronto’s well known steak places. This restaurant is located on a small street called Elm, behind Yonge and Dundas Square, in the heart of Downtown Toronto.
As soon as you enter, you are immediately immersed into the dimly lit, rustic, homey, yet elegant feel of this restaurant. It is has the typical white table cloth and candlelight dinner setting. They are known for their enormous wine cellar, which is absolutely gorgeous and an amazing room to host a larger party.

The staff was accommodating and attentive; although this was a fancy place, I appreciated the fact that no one was acting pretentious, which is something I have felt at other upscale restaurants in the past. We had made prior reservations, but I noticed guests without reservations were able to get a seat without a lengthy wait.
Anyone who knows me knows that I enjoy and appreciate a beautiful piece of meat when I see one. I promise if you are a steak lover, this place will not disappoint you. Whether you like Filet Mignon, New York Strip Loin or my all-time favorite the Ribeye, Barberian has it all!
Some background about the Ribeye steak: it is a fattier piece of meat, giving it a lot of flavour. If you ever want to pick out a great piece of Ribeye steak, just keep in mind that the more marbled the piece is, the better quality and better tasting it will be.
- 16oz bone-in Ribeye $54.24 with a baked potato and a side of sautéed mushrooms $8.25
